Police have launched investigations into the death of 22-year-old Margaret Wambui, who died after falling from the rooftop of a 22-storey apartment building in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area.
Wambui, a hotel intern, is reported to have entered Altura Apartments at around 10 p.m. before proceeding to the rooftop on the 22nd floor, where she was reportedly taking photographs. Her body was later discovered on a neighbouring property, while her handbag and identification documents were recovered from the rooftop.
Her family has dismissed reports suggesting she died by suicide, insisting that there are unanswered questions surrounding the incident. They are calling for a comprehensive and transparent investigation to establish the exact circumstances that led to her death.
Police say investigations are ongoing as detectives work to determine what happened on the night of the incident.
