Msambweni County Teaching and Referral Hospital is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying and locating the family of a young man who tragically lost his life two weeks ago following false allegations of theft of private parts.

Subsequent investigations established that the allegations against him were unfounded.

The deceased had a speech impairment and was unable to communicate verbally. However, he communicated clearly and fluently through written English. Before his death, he identified himself in writing as Yusuf Katana from Kilifi County, Kenya, although he did not provide the name of his village or any details that could help locate his family.

According to available information, Yusuf had been traveling between mosques seeking assistance to raise transport fare to return home when he met his untimely and tragic death.

Msambweni County Teaching and Referral Hospital is appealing to anyone who may recognize Yusuf Katana or have information about his family, relatives, friends, or place of origin to come forward. The hospital hopes to reunite him with his loved ones so that he may be laid to rest with the dignity and respect every person deserves.

The body is currently being preserved at the Msambweni County Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.

We kindly request members of the public, community organizations, faith leaders, humanitarian groups, and media outlets to share this appeal as widely as possible.
