More than 3,000 residents of Mombasa received their long-awaited National Identity Cards at Treasury Square in a major milestone achieved through a successful partnership between the National Government and the Sharrif Nassir Foundation.

This large-scale ID distribution marks a significant step forward for thousands of citizens who can now fully access essential services and opportunities. With their IDs in hand, beneficiaries can now apply for jobs, enroll in educational institutions, receive healthcare, and participate more fully in civic and economic life.
“This initiative is about unlocking potential,” said Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir. “By ensuring that every citizen has access to identification, we are laying the groundwork for empowerment, inclusion, and progress.”

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening local communities and improving service delivery in the region.
