The 2027 political contest for the Mombasa County Women Representative seat is beginning to take shape, with residents in Kisauni signaling support for Mama Amina Abdalla following a series of grassroots engagements in the area.
Residents made their views known during meetings with Mama Amina, who has been engaging communities to hear directly from them about challenges affecting their livelihoods and discuss possible solutions.

The meetings provided a platform for residents to raise concerns around the cost of living, unemployment, economic opportunities for youth, the welfare of women and support for vulnerable families.
Some residents said they are looking for a Women Representative who will maintain a strong presence at the grassroots, listen to citizens and effectively present their concerns at both county and national levels.

The emerging support for Mama Amina comes as political activity gradually intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, with aspirants expected to step up community engagements and mobilise support across Mombasa County.
Addressing the residents, Mama Amina appealed for their support in her bid for the Women Representative position, saying her priority would be to strengthen representation and address issues affecting women, youth and other vulnerable groups.

The Kisauni meetings are likely to form part of a wider grassroots mobilization strategy as the 2027 race gains momentum, with the level of support among women, youth and other key voting blocs expected to influence the outcome.
With the election still ahead, the political landscape remains fluid, but the growing community engagements point to an increasingly competitive race for the Mombasa Women Representative seat.
